DSF assists professionals who support students with learning difficulties through the provision of a range of services and the dissemination of current, evidence-based information. We offer professional development to schools, teachers, private tutors and allied educational and health professionals on a range of topics and high-quality programmes designed to improve outcomes for students who struggle to develop literacy or numeracy skills. In addition, DSF provides access to free information on learning difficulties in reading, written expression and mathematics (commonly referred to as dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalcualia, respectively). Teachers in remote Western Australia or those who do not have allocated time to attend professional development can access online training in understanding learning difficulties through DSF. Schools may also request in-school training to be provided by skilled DSF trainers.
