Sounds~Write© is an evidence-based linguistic phonics program utilising an exciting and highly successful approach to the teaching of reading and spelling.
This four day intensive course offers an instructional method that is structured, cumulative, sequential and explicit; all of which are strongly recommended for teaching children to read and spell. Attendees are provided with the opportunity to practise the necessary teaching skills and extend their knowledge of the components of effective reading and spelling instruction.
Sounds~Write© is developmentally appropriate for beginning readers in pre-school, years 1, 2 & 3 and also offers fast and highly effective intervention for students at all year levels who have fallen behind in their reading and spelling from Year 3 onwards.

Liza is a Speech Pathologist and a Sounds-Write Trainer at DSF Literacy and Clinical Services in Perth, Western Australia. Liza enjoys working with teachers, speech pathologists and other professionals keen to make a difference in the areas of language, literacy, and learning. She is an experienced primary school teacher and has extensive experience across all three tiers of literacy instruction and intervention, from whole class teaching through to small group clinical intervention. In addition to running courses in Sounds-Write, Liza conducts assessments, delivers individual therapy sessions, and works in schools supporting teachers in the areas of language and literacy development.
 

Cancellations

DSF Literacy Services has a ‘no refund’ policy. The exception would be when a Professional Learning Course had to be cancelled by the Foundation. All other requests for cancellation will be invited to re-register for another session. Late cancellation (less than 48 business hrs) will necessitate the Foundation deducting an administration fee of $25.00 and transferring the balance to another Professional Learning Course.
