As learning disorders are lifelong conditions, many adults will continue to experience a greater level of difficulty with learning and utilising their literacy and numeracy skills.

For adults who undertake further study or training, literacy or numeracy difficulties can continue to make the learning process more challenging.  Therefore, there is an ongoing need for learning support and accommodations designed to reduce the severity of these learning difficulties. Adults with learning disorders may also find that reading, spelling or writing difficulties can affect the ease at which they can complete everyday tasks at home and in the workplace.
