Clever Kids : Support group for Students in Years 5 and 6

Research shows us that it is often not the severity of a learning difficulty that determines how a student will succeed but their level of adaptive functioning. In other words, when we examine what allows individuals with learning difficulties to be successful it is often related to taking control of the situation, choosing effective coping strategies and having positive thinking. Based on the program Success & Dyslexia students will be given the opportunity to develop these types of skills and strategies as part of their ‘Tool-kit for life’.

Participation in this 9-week support group will also provide an opportunity for students to share their experiences with others, feel validated, acknowledged and supported. Parents are also invited to attend an information evening on the Monday 23rd July 2018 to learn more about the program and discuss their child’s individual needs.
