A WORKSHOP FOR PARENTS OF CHILDREN WITH LEARNING DIFFICULTIES AND DISABILITIES.

Research indicates that for a child with a learning difficulty or disability their self-esteem and ability to “bounce back” from challenges is just as important (if not more important) to their future success as the remediation they receive.

This workshop focuses on giving parents strategies to develop their child’s resilience.

Presenter: Katrina Farrant

Katrina is a psychologist at DSF Literacy and Clinical Services. She assess children, teenagers and adults struggling with the acquisition of effective literacy skills and recommends appropriate classroom-based and individual strategies. Katrina also provides counselling for children and adults struggling with the impact of having a learning difficulty. Katrina is passionate about empowering young people with learning difficulties to find their own solutions and develop positive coping strategies.
